An award-winning singer-songwriter with more than 15 years in the business, Bradley McCaw's brand of blue-eyed soul, Motown vibes, and rock & roll energy will have your dancing in the kitchen – literally.
The Australian artist has spent the past five years working on his debut album titled 'Worried Minds', with legendary artist and producer Louis Shelton (who has performed on or produced with the likes of Jackson 5, Lionel Ritchie, Marvin Gaye, Whitney Houston, Neil Diamond, Barbra Streisand).Due to drop in the summer of '22, his current single is 'So Glad' – an upbeat track that bounces with an infectious enthusiasm, its soulful pop-rock feels the perfect invitation to let your feet loose.
With a large chunk of nation either still in or recently in lockdown, Bradley saw an ideal situation to bring some joy to his fans lives during this testing period by laying down the challenge: to film themselves singing along to 'So Glad' in their own kitchens.
The results were priceless and led to the 'So Glad' music video. "For me, there's nothing more perfect than having fans dancing in their kitchens to this song," Bradley says.
"It really captures what it's about: second chances and letting go." We totally agree. . . and if you're not ready to do the same after watching the clip, you may need to check your pulse.
So without further to do, scenestr is pumped to premiere Bradley McCaw's music video 'So Glad' today. Enjoy.
The video also includes bass legend Nathan East, who plays on Bradley's forthcoming album. Nathan was a founding member of contemporary jazz group Fourplay, and has collaborated with the likes of Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, and Daft Punk.
Bradley's career began singing classical music with international globetrotters The Ten Tenors; the experience led to him performing at the AFL Grand Final and his first world tour.
After a string of lead roles in musicals like 'Rent' and 'Les Miserables', Bradley met Louie Shelton and a collaborative relationship began.
Their first session working together, in a recording studio on the Gold Coast, was inspired and driven by Bradley's goal to create 'music like his idols'. He asked Louie to run these recording sessions just as he would have done in the '60s and '70s, with the great rock & roll singer-songwriters of the time.
The result was undeniable. There was an energy in the room and the music was alive and unfiltered.
Those first sessions, with Steve Francis on drums and Jose McLaughlin on bass, changed the direction of Bradley's career and set in motion this new album, which would be some five years in the making.
In 2020, during the COVID pandemic, the 'Worried Minds' album was finally completed. Further drum sessions were captured at La Cueva Recording Studio (Byron Bay) with Nick DiDia, who has worked on albums by Powderfinger, Bruce Springsteen, Ben Folds Five, Neil Young, and Offspring.
The album then scored its undeniable groove and style with new bass performed by Nathan East. The final touches were added at 301 Studios Sydney, engineered by Stefan Du Randt, and assisted by Jack Garzanio.
The result showcases Bradley McCaw as a true and unique artist, fronting lush arrangements of live strings, horns and backing vocals. Bradley has recaptured a timeless and old school sound for the modern way of life.
Expect 'Worried Minds' to drop in the summer of '22.
