Sydney emcee Big Ty has begun making waves this year since establishing local hip hop outfit RBT with fellow Sydneysider Elijah Tovio aka Biggs and producer/ DJ Hardcore Hustle.
The rapper of Samoan descent, Big Ty has been playing weekly gigs at Hustle & Flow Bar, Newtown’s The Bank and Slyfox, and recently released his 'Counterfeit' EP with fellow crew RBT.
Alongside singles 'Animal' and 'Above The Water', his latest is 'Plan B’ a track birthed from the daily rituals of carpentry, the trade that has employed him for the last few years.
"For years I have been the factory labourer or the security guard. Since I started carpentry I now have a sense of belonging and a vision for my future," Big Ty says.
"I wrote this song because it is definitely a passion of mine other than music. By watching this hopefully you will get a glimpse into another side of Big Ty."
The track features a smooth, laidback instrumental with soulful chords produced by Hardcore Hustle perfectly accompanying the rhythmic and melodic rapping style of Big Ty.
