Tom Calder is the moniker of singer-songwriter Thomas Calder. A man of the same name and similar appearance.
Tom is set to release his second single, on independent label 'Eat More Records', titled 'Clean Slate' 27 April.
The track is 'a subtle and thoughtful narrative exploring the dynamic between the insecurity we all feel and the personality we project to others, the sonic texture of the music echoes these themes'. Think a crossbreed of Nada Surf, Grandaddy and Elliot Smith… goosebump feels.
"With 'Clean Slate', I wanted to again explore the idea of the divide between how we choose to project our inner-selves to the world and the self-consciousness we really feel within," admits Tom.
"It's all about contrast. Organic meeting the inorganic. Thickness and softness. All contrasting ideas laying side by side."
