Melodic grunge rockers, TILD's newest single 'Change' highlights the Sydney group's evolving sound that features a combo of driving and wailing guitar licks married to an aggressive yet polished rhythm section that's all encased in tight production.
After releasing two singles in 2020 ('Make Up' and 'Wasting Time'), TILD have once again teamed up with producer Lachlan Mitchell (The Vines, The Jezabels) to write 'Change', a track that lyrically explores resistance to development and the consequences of those actions on one's own mental well-being."The writing of this song was one of the easiest yet," TILD says. "We jammed this out in a single rehearsal session.
"The main structure and melody were there within an hour. It's actually really unusual for us. We usually chop and change and tweak, and writing a single track can at times take weeks or months.
"It's really exciting to have a track come together so quickly."
Ahead of the release of 'Change' on Friday (5 February), scenestr is stoked to premiere TILD's newest single today. Enjoy.
"Musically, the song went to another level in the studio," the band adds.
"Producer Lachlan Mitchell had us messing around with different feedback and undertones. We created a whole track of noise and feedback that plays subtly underneath the whole track, which we felt gave the track an extra edge."
