A newcomer who made her debut earlier this year, Mackay-based singer-songwriter Tiffany Grace is back with her sophomore single 'You Needed Me'.

Passionate about music from an early age, Tiffany began vocal training and learning guitar from age 13; that commitment to her craft has seen her showcase at Arts International Showcase in LA, while she was crowned the winner of Young Whitsundays Got Talent 2022.

'You Needed Me', which was recorded with ARIA-nominated producer Stuart Stuart (Sheppard, The Veronicas), details the emotional toll a toxic relationship can place on an individual.

Heartfelt and emotionally raw lyrically, a chiming, bright melody adds a positivity that mirrors the self-worth Tiffany declares one feels in the aftermath of surviving a poisonous romance.

Ahead of the song's release tomorrow, scenestr is ecstatic to premiere 'You Needed Me' today. Enjoy.

"Going through an emotional roller coaster, you're feeling heartbroken and betrayed because they weren't who you thought they were," shares Tiffany about the meaning behind 'You Needed Me', "regretting ever giving this toxic person so much of your time, but mainly realising your self-worth and growing stronger now that this person is out of your life.

"Even after all the heartache you'd much rather be where you are now as a strong, independent person who will never deal with that again and most definitely never let them back in your life."

When it came to the recording sessions for 'You Needed Me', Tiffany did encounter an awkward case of 'rolling tongues'. "You'll notice in the song that the post-chorus has some catchy da da's.

"During the recording process of this song, I constantly kept rolling my tongue in this section without realising and my producer would tell me to stop rolling my tongue but I just couldn't work it out.

"So, after many takes he had to do a bit of chopping and changing and I think this is quite funny as when I sang this song many many times before this was never an issue."
