One of Western Australia's premiere alt. country acts – they've been nominated for a fourth straight 'Best Country' award at the WAMAwards (West Australian Music) – The Little Lord Street Band return with a new single 'Where Are We'.
Written on the road and depicting a relationship that's become a little complacent, 'Where Are We' comes from a recording session earlier this year and will feature as part of the group's debut album – slated for release next year.
"The song is a dramatic ballad written for lovers with cabin fever, in a relationship they aren't sure of, and asking each other the hard questions," band member Natasha Shanks says.
"We recorded the vocals and four-part harmonies a few times to get the right amount of attitude in frustration and heartache feels."
"The blending of electric and mandolin in the instrumental section could be seen as symbolic of tension in a relationship, two-sided argument," adds James Rogers.
"The song gives hope even though it finishes on an unresolved final chord." scenestr is stoked to premiere an exclusive stream of 'Where Are We' today. Sit back and enjoy.
The band have a stack of live dates between now and the end of the year across WA, VIC, NSW and Tasmania.
