Brisbane post-rock outfit The Bear Hunt are ready to prowl once more, with the release of new single 'Better' that is lifted from their forthcoming album 'Goodnight, Sweet Losers'.
Inspired by Australia's current political climate, the group wrote 'Better' as a 'way to cope with the societal despair' seen across the entire country. "It's already 2020 and things don't appear to be getting any better," the band says."The track is instrumentally inspired by Interpol combined with elements of Australiana with a dash of good, old-fashion fuzz rock, subtle wailing guitars and emotive vocals."
With a previous EP as well as an album to their name, and local supports for the likes of Built To Spill, Screamfeeder, Drunk Mums and Hockey Dad, The Bear Hunt's local credentials are rubber-stamped.
Ahead of 'Better' being released tomorrow (6 March), scenestr has an exclusive stream of the song to share with you today. Enjoy.
Their upcoming album 'Good Night, Sweet Losers' sees the band taking a new direction with their sound and recording method. They worked with producer and engineer Cameron Smith, who has also worked with local artists Good Boy, Dune Rats, Kelli Lloyd, and Deafcult.
