Need a serving of sunny indie pop wrapped in delicious, new-wave, retro-sized, indie-rock beats? Then let Melbourne's Telescreen wash over you with the group ready to unleash their second single, 'Love Proud'.
'Love Proud' is the second instalment from Telescreen's limited double A-side 7" vinyl, after the release a few months back of their debut single 'Crowded'.
"When I wrote ['Love Proud'] I remember it all falling into place so quickly, more so than any other song I’ve worked on so far. It just felt right," the band's lead singer Nic Schwarz says.
Ahead of its official release tomorrow (27 July), scenestr is pumped to premiere 'Love Proud' today with an exclusive stream. Onya Telescreen.
"I started with the chorus vocal without any real idea of how the rest of the song was going to play out," continues Nic, "but I sat down to record a short demo and ended up doing the whole thing in one sitting.
"It's a bit rare for the whole process to happen like that but I was really focused on the woozy, broody feel of it that it all came tumbling out at once."
The band will launch 'Love Proud' with a home-town show in early August at The Gasometer Hotel. "We absolutely love playing ['Love Proud'] live. It's a really fun song to play and a bit of an emotional roller coaster for me personally.
"We're all really excited to launch it at the Gaso; it's the biggest venue we've ever played at so hopefully we get a crowd to match!"
