A proud Nyikina Jarndoo (woman) and First Nations artist hailing from the ancient lands of the Kimberley in Western Australia, Stellar Moon's music is crafted to ignite inner revolutions and empower listeners.

The latest chapter from Stellar Moon is another sonic piece from her forthcoming debut album 'PHASES' (due 7 March), the soul-inflected bluesy-rock single 'Rise'. Bright, vivacious, buoyant instrumentation create an ethereal soundscape of soul-rock that also morphs into New Orleans-flavoured bluesy jazz, the merriment evoked contagious.

Possessed with earthy, calming yet spirited vocals, Stellar Moon projects a revelry that sweeps across the senses, rooting itself in your feet before coursing its way through legs, leaving the knees and hips spasming in joyful unison before shoulder shimmies and full-body swaying take full affect.

There's also a cool breakdown towards the end of song, a breather to soak in the dazzling tones before 'Rise' gallops home with an enriching guitar riff joining the chorus of jazz-blues-roots-country rock & roll.

"No matter what 'phase' you're going through in life," shares Stellar Moon, "just like the moon, you're always whole and just like the moon, you too will RISE again!"

Ahead of the song's release tomorrow (9 February), scenestr is thrilled to premiere 'Rise' today. Enjoy.

Inspired by her work as a life coach and sound healer to share her journey through music, Stellar Moon has supported Australian greats such as Daryl Braithwaite and The Waifs.

With a message to 'awaken the power within', Stellar Moon is intent on reshaping the status quo, to provide a platform where listeners can 'stand up for their country, fall radically in love with themselves and learn to live an unapologetic full expression of themselves'.

"'You may trod me in the very dirt, but still, like dust, I'll rise' (Maya Angelou)," shares Stellar Moon.

"'Rise' is the full moon, it's a celebration, like we do when the moon is full and the energy is high, this song is saying, 'hey, no matter what, you'll always get back up to rise again like the sea'."

The follow-up to 2023 single 'Still Tea', which was added to Apple Music FIRST and was the cover of Spotify's Original Storytellers playlist, 'Rise' was written in a moment of fun and frivolity and delves into that (often rare) feeling that everything will be ok.

"This is an upbeat song with Motownesque drum rolls, definitive tambourine, solid horns and strong backing vocals," Stella Moon says. "A fun song to leave you feeling empowered and free! Writing this was very visual and easy, the kind of song that all just comes out in one sitting!"

Stellar Moon will tour throughout Western Australia February-March 2024.
