A hypnotic slow-jam of mellow pop and downtempo modern R&B, Australian producer, singer-songwriter Spectoral's latest creation is 'Daisy Lane' featuring Kathana.
The first collaboration between the Melbourne artist and Kathana, who hails from Washington, USA, the comparisons to Boards Of Canada and Caribou aren't fanciful suggestions.When Spectoral's own, piercing vocals are unleashed in the second verse, you can feel your heart melting as they seamless join with Kathana's wistful hook.
"I was really taken by Kathana's beautiful vocal delivery and had to reach out to her about this hook," Spectoral says.
"There's a sweet vulnerability behind the way she sings that refrain that I wanted to paint around and explore."

"I'd recently read a great interview with Dan Snaith of Caribou," adds Spectoral, "and there's this part where he says he was excited by the idea of 'leaving in the jagged edges' that would normally be shaved down for a typical pop record.
"That sort of freedom is definitely something I wanted to express in my treatment of this song for Kathana."
