Australian indie folk-pop artist, River Lane explores a rockier side to her music with new single, 'Where Did You Go'.
The singer-songwriter from the regional South Australian town of Mannum (in fact, she has bragging rights as the town's first busker!) released two singles in 2019: 'Ghost Of A Girl' and 'Stronger'.Not your run of the mill musician, River Lane began working life as a tradie before she was drawn back to the world of music.
'Where Did You Go' is a song about expressing what you wish you could tell someone you love who's experiencing difficult times.
It also sees River Lane introducing synths and an electric drum kit to her music. "'Where Did You Go' is a step in a new direction for me genre wise," River Lane admits.
"The lyrics are about not knowing if someone you love is going to come out the other end of a dark place. It's what I wanted to say to them, if they were listening."
Ahead of the song's release tomorrow (26 August), scenestr is stoked to premiere 'Where Did You Go' today. Enjoy.
