Premiere: Stream Polymer's New Single 'Believers'

Polymer's new single is titled 'Believers'.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Sydney rockers Polymer are set to release another piece from their forthcoming debut album, 'Zealots Box', in the form of new single 'Believers'.

The trio, who formed last year, bring a wealth of experience to the project with all three seasoned musicians having played in other bands including Age Of Menace and Samsara.

'Believers' came together through sessions at a warehouse studio in Kingsgrove, before final mastering touches were applied by Sydney's DB Mastering.

"When the weight of the world is buried on top of us – losing sight of who we once were, losing hope, losing ourselves, and just dragging through the motions, itching to get out – it's a confronting moment, and it's a long way off course,"

Polymer says about the lyrical background of 'Believers'. "It resembles nothing of where we started. How did we get here? 'Too tired, uninspired?' really were the backbone of this song, and the thinking 'Is this it?' really drove home how helpless we can feel sometimes.

"The back door is not completely closed though, and there was always the sense that this song was written as a wake up call."

With 'Believers' set for release tomorrow, Polymer have given scenestr the inside running to premiere the track today. Enjoy.

With a support slot for Israeli band Elephant Hive's Sydney show later this month as well as a number of other NSW headline shows, Polymer will release 'Zealots Box' later this year.

"All of the album was written in the mezzanine space of an old warehouse in Kingsgrove [Sydney]. Previously owned by a friend, we would write and rehearse as much as we could," Polymer says.

"When rehearsing the album tracks, we would set-up in the main space of the warehouse and just fill it with noise; as was the resonance this place had, we were frequently shut down by the cops for being too loud.

"We also recorded the album there; we aptly named the warehouse 'Hangar Studios' in testament to its size. The warehouse was a massive space with 6m high ceilings and plenty of space to run around in, just ripe for making 'loud band music noise'."
