Sydney artist Oly Sherman is back in the spotlight, with the delectable new single 'The World Is In A Bad Room'.
Indie pop infused with an electronic base, Oly stretches into soulful territory with hints of James Blake, Mattafix and Bahamas, even Coldplay.Laidback and loose throughout, with warm, gentle, soothing vocals expressing evocative lyrics Oly has crafted an elegant, emotive jam that demands repeat listens.
The song ruminates about the current, warped climate we find ourselves related to our relationships and the decisions we make that comes from a personal headspace for Oly.
"[It has] a mixed mindset between the torn up world we're trying to get through, and my own mind.
"The song basically encapsulates our decisions when weighed up with friends, relationships and social media," Oly says.

"I wanted to create something with a consistent groove," adds Oly, "and [that] allows the band and I to play freely live.
"The recording process was really quick, with the chord structure and vocals taking only a day to lay down.
"I just fiddled with the tune for the next month until I arrived at something I was super, super happy with."
Sherman returns to the stage in Sydney later this month, with two sold-out shows at the The Vanguard on 23 October.
