Mount Saint Leonard release their newest single, 'If I Was Your Lover'.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Indie folk, rock Melbourne band Mount Saint Leonard capture a sound reminiscent of '70s rock, 'the likes of Mazzy Star and even Bob Dylan after he went electric'.

With their debut album scheduled for release in 2018, and ahead of a Melbourne show later in December, the band led by artist Kathleen Mary Lee release their newest single, the subtle but emotive and dynamic song, 'If I Was Your Lover', which you can stream exclusively on scenestr today.

"The recording of this song is actually taken from our first ever rehearsal," Kathleen Mary Lee says. "We all met down at Zac's [Isaac Barter, electric guitar] place out in Geelong to see if we like playing together and wanted to form a band.

"This is the second or third run through of the first song we tried. Luckily Zac recorded everything because, although we re-recorded it six months later, we couldn't go past this take."

Mount Saint Leonard with special guests Sister Socrates play B.EAST (Melbourne) 17 December.
