Stylish, polished folk that hints at colonial times, yet also features feathery-soft strings that evoke hauntingly beautiful memories to mind, Miriam Lieberman's latest single 'Infinite We Are' is a mesmerising ride that vibes Kate Bush, but also sounds completely modern.
With a cinematic flow that carries Miriam's elegant, graceful yet measured vocals higher and higher, 'Infinite We Are' treads a 'darker' side of indie pop. "This song is about the power of imagination," Miriam says."It's about sharing our dreams, stories and imaginings as a way to go beyond our own limitations, and the benefit of dreaming."
Lifted from her forthcoming album 'Just Transforming' (that's due 28 May), scenestr is proud to premiere 'Infinite We Are' today, ahead its release on Friday (7 May). Enjoy.
Created during 2020, 'Just Transforming' sees Miriam return to her songwriting craft with songs influenced by her recent motherhood.
"In this crazy past year of uncertainty, I've come back to my songwriting after a hiatus of becoming a mum," she says.
"The result is an album of new songs about our incredible and fragile planet, about becoming a mum, about imagination and about our need for each other.
"It's my intention to empower and uplift people with this music."
Miriam with her trio will be taking these new songs on the road, with a NSW tour that will visit Gosford, Wauchope, Wingham, Blue Mountains, Marrickville, and Newcastle.
