Mad Cactus

Ahead of their debut album release titled 'Thirteen Dogs' later this month (15 June), Adelaide alt-rockers Mad Cactus have released another 'taster' from the eight-track album, 'Reckless'.

After their debut single, 'Dream Killer', earned a nomination for Best Heavy Act at the 2016 South Australian Music Awards, the group have become a mainstay on the local scene.

Mad Cactus' frontman Tim Mellonie describes 'Reckless' as a break-up song. "I wrote the thing while in the midst of a relationship bust-up where all I wanted to do was 'hang out' with hot chicks that weren't my girlfriend and lift weights.

"Kind of embarrassing looking back... But it's definitely one of my favourite tracks on the album. It's tough as hell and has the best break down you're likely to hear this month."

Recorded and produced by Dan Murtagh at Debasement Studios in Melbourne, 'Thirteen Dogs' is due 15 June. Mad Cactus will launch the album with a home-town show at The Ed Castle Hotel 15 June.
