Melbourne-based artist and producer, Luke Yeoward returns with the first single, 'Always In Your Heart', from his new solo album ('Marigold Avenue') that introduces a roots-reggae flavour to his arsenal.
A life-long, self-taught musician formerly of Melbourne band King Cannons, 'Always In Your Heart' Yeoward explains is "something deep and different than anything I've ever released before."It's about being separated from my children. It's timely and likely relatable because of the COVID-19 restrictions we're all faced with currently. My studio is at home nowadays, so the kids sing backing vocals on the track too."
'Always In Your Heart' is also the first release on new, roots-focused subsidiary label Nebari and will feature on a 7" vinyl alongside two remixes from a living legend of the dub-reggae world.
"It's a very special song to me, so when I was lucky enough to have Lee 'Scratch' Perry remix and cut vocals on two different versions, that absolutely blew my mind.
"Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think The Upsetter would dub one of my tunes."
Ahead of the song's release tomorrow, scenestr is stoked to premiere 'Always In Your Heart' today. Enjoy.
With a new direction in his music, 2021 also sees Yeoward front a new live band, The Nebari All-Stars, with shows already planned next month in Geelong and Melbourne. "I am so excited to be putting a live show together again," Luke says.
"We're rehearsing hard and the band is absolutely killing it. I can't wait to be out there again playing some shows and feeling the energy exchange that only happens with performing to an audience.
"People can expect to hear some of their favourites from over the years, as well as the songs from the new record and a few surprises."
The band features Plutonic Lab (Hilltop Hoods), Monique Boggia (Deep Street Soul), Rob Ting (King Cannons), and Chris Toro (8H).
