Originally from Mount Taranaki in New Zealand, but now based in Melbourne, hip hop artist Luke Darth returns with a new single, 'The Chase', this week (3 August).
Influenced by Eminem, Nelly, Wu-Tang Clan and Busta Rhymes, Luke Darth began writing poems to create a place of freedom and self-expression for himself.
Set to release his debut album, 'The Cosmonaut', later this month (24 August), Luke has shared an exclusive stream of 'The Chase' for scenestr to premiere today. "'The Chase' is my tragic comedy off the album," he says.
"I was inspired to make this song as I was listening to a lot of swing at the time. I loved how the music compelled me to move; it's also my favourite music to tend bar and cook to.
"The song itself is about a hopeless soul constantly chasing a girl who hasn't the heart to tell him she's just not into him."
