An independent artist emerging from the nation's capital, Canberra, Leila is an Australian pop-country singer-songwriter proudly wearing her lyrical emotions on her sleeve.
After releasing her debut EP 'Uncover' last year, Leila has honed her live performances opening for artists like Fatai, Ella Hooper (Killing Heidi), and Bella Mackenzie. In the last few weeks Leila has added to resume, supporting both Emma Pask and Nathan Cavaleri.
With previous 2025 singles 'Do Without' and 'Butterfly' attracting plenty of interest, over 200 radio stations worldwide airing 'Do Without' alone, Leila's newest release is the emotive single 'All The Things You Do'.
A sincere song exploring themes related to the aftermath of a friendship/ relationship breakup, it begins with finger-picked acoustic guitar that is vibrantly strummed, the rich, bright tones creating a soundscape that's achingly raw, the yearning feels heightened by the simple yet gleaming rhythm.
There's a wistfulness to Leila's voice that lingers, the waft of negative energy intoxicating, unspoken past trauma seeping into the vocal performance. Yet hope glimmers through, an inner strength buoyed by the realisation that focusing on the other person only detracts from embracing your own self-worth.
That self-confidence morphs into a carefree attitude, carrying the song as soaring guitars, a strain of slide guitar and loose but compact drumming meld together to lift Leila's vocals that are starkly coarse yet imbued with a warmth (think Kasey Chambers mixed with Amy Shark) that's as relatable as it is mesmerising.
Ahead of the song's release tomorrow (7 November), today scenestr is stoked to premiere 'All The Things You Do'. Enjoy.
"'All The Things You Do' is a pop/ country heartbreak anthem about the aftermath of a friendship/ relationship breakup," Leila says. "The song explores the themes of anger, reflection, sadness, honesty and liberation."
With a trio of headline shows that commences in Wollongong tonight, followed by Canberra and Melbourne later in the month, Leila hopes listeners with similar experiences can connect with the song.
"'All The Things You Do' is one of those songs that came to life really easily both in the writing and production world, and I believe the single will resonate with many listeners upon the first listen."
