A veteran of the scene for the past decade or so, Australian emcee Kudos is stepping it up big-time in 2020 with plans to release numerous singles, a host of video content and tour nationally.
The first step for the Melbourne rapper is the party-licious banger 'Party On A Friday' that harks back to early naughties joints similar to Butterfingers, Downsyde, Certified Wise and Terra Firma. Yeah, it's solid."I f...ing love partying on Fridays," beams Kudos, "it sets my whole weekend up for a perfect sequence of decompression.
"I get obsessively passionate about the small details that make everything run smoothly, and for me partying on Fridays is essential to my week's productivity. This song is my ode to that detail."
Ahead of the song's release across digital platforms tomorrow (21 February), scenestr is pumped to share an exclusive stream of 'Party On A Friday' today.
Produced by Sydney's Delipres with cuts by DJ Lickweed, and featuring a clean, funky melody with minimalistic drums, Kudos was influenced by Black Thought and The Roots. "'Party On A Friday' is the ambitious person's party anthem.
"For a long time I have favoured Fridays for a good, old loss of sleep. I love to party, but also believe that how you perform on your Monday will define your week and so it goes; Friday is the perfect evening to party."
But beware of allowing that party to stretch into Saturday, 'cause Mondays arrive shockingly fast otherwise.
