Australian singer-songwriter Karlou returns with a new slice of feel-good pop that resonates with positivity in the form of her latest single 'Grew Up'.
The moniker of Karrie Hayward, Karlou offers the Sunshine Coast musician a new path to explore her love for nostalgic pop hooks and catchy lyrics. "I kind of wrote 'Grew Up' out of spite of all them judgemental and narrow-minded opinions."This track is about being real and sharing that vulnerable side of you, regardless of the setbacks you may have. Kinda like a reverse high-five."
To achieve her new sound of 'youthful passion', Karlou teamed with Brad Hosking of Blind Boy Studios. "Recording this track was a super, fun time," enthuses Karlou.
"If you listen in closely, I was making toast in the studio and we recorded it and threw it in the mix.
"I may have also told three jokes in it and discussed what ink I'm gonna get next time. I'm all about a good laugh and I feel like this song gives off that kind of energy."
With 'Grew Up' released across digital services tomorrow (26 March), scenestr is stoked to offer an exclusive stream today. Get ready for a good laugh. Enjoy.
