Sydney-based electro pop singer-songwriter Jess Spahr is back with new single 'Art Of Leaving', which will feature on her forthcoming EP that will be released later in 2020.
A fun, bright offering of indie pop, drizzled in smoky electro vibes, Jess has created a whimsical dance-floor enticer."The song itself is all about walking away from situations in life," begins Jess, "that just 'cause you too much stress; putting your hand up and saying 'Hakuna Matata' and walk away with no stress.
"[I] love this track," continues Jess, "even though the name depicts heartbreak it is actually written about something completely different.
"It is written about walking away from situations that are toxic to your everyday life; could be work, it could be heartbreak but it could also be walking away from eating a certain food product, haha.
"It is a fun, up-beat song that gets everyone up dancing and saying 'ta ta' to those issues in life."
Ahead of the song's release on all digital platforms tomorrow (13 March), scenestr is excited to offer an exclusive stream of 'Art Of Leaving' today. So put the kettle on, break open the bickies and enjoy.
When it came time to title the song, Jess admits it began somewhat in joke-land. "The title 'Art Of Leaving' actually came up as a joke in [a] recording session, when we were discussing the art of love and I just bluntly came out with 'No! I think it is called the art of leaving haha!'. The title really stuck and from there the entire piece came together."
Jess, who has toured Europe and gigged in London and plans to return there later this year, has scored triple j airplay and speaks German fluently.
