Sydney indie rockers Inklines continue to surf the momentum they created last year with the release of new burner, 'Wherever You Go'.
The band rounded out 2019 with the release of 'Too Much' (the first offering from their mid-year recording sessions at Housefox Studios) that saw the band gain airplay in the US and Canada.Veterans of the scene since 2017, the band have released two EPs recorded with Lachlan West (The Vines, The Griswolds).
New single 'Wherever You Go' is a crossover between British rockers Keane and Lismore legends Grinspoon's 'Chemical Heart' - scenestr is stoked to premiere an official stream of the song ahead of its commercial release on Friday (24 January). Enjoy.
"I was listening to a lot of Royal Blood in 2018 when I wrote this song," Will Tremain (guitar/ vocals) says. "I was hearing really heavy bass in everything, so balls to the wall bass and drums with no guitar in the verse seemed like the only logical thing to do, haha.
"I think that's probably where I got the inspiration to do the slightly faster lyrical delivery in the verse than I would typically do.
"The chorus was written completely separate to that and it just happened to fit with the verse really well. I think the combination of the verse and chorus and the way they sort of contrast is a big part of what makes this song special for us.
"As a band, songs always stand out a bit more when there isn't anything that we can immediately compare the sound to, and this song was definitely one of those."
