South Coast MC, musician and producer, HMO follows up his recently released EP 'Eternity In An Hour' with a remix of one of the EP's tracks, 'Fake'.
With fellow South Coast creative SōHEI on remixing duties, this version of 'Fake' features a trap twist with swelling synth chords, dark booming kick drums and a dirty beat that's hard to resist.
"In a world where pretence seems to be the norm, we search for this false sense of approval," HMO says about the origins of 'Fake'.
"Our whole moral compass has been shifted and our values seem to be lost, which is what this track aims to explore.
"Without deviating too far from the structure and lyrical content, SōHEI has really given this track a kick-ass refurbishment, which respects the vibe of the original track, but really brings it to a whole new level."
Ahead of the release tomorrow of 'Fake feat Gee Mary (SōHEI Remix)', scenestr is stoked to premiere the song today. Enjoy.
"I had been contemplating releasing a remix for some time and this track is one I really thought would lend itself to creative reinterpretation," HMO adds.
"I have been talking to SōHEI (Danny King) regarding doing a collaboration and I just hit him with the stems and said go nuts.
"What evolved was this track which puts a major spin on the original while holding true to the structure."Read our recent interview with HMO.
Currently in the studio working on a collaborative project with a bunch of South Coast MCs, HMO hopes to release a bunch of new music soon.
He'll be taking a hiatus from touring and live shows due to the impending birth of his first child, but hopes to get back on the road in 2022 starting with a show in January at Livestreemer Studios in Wollongong.
