Still at the beginning of their journey, Perth's Have A Good Day have delivered another sonic burst of luscious dreamy pop that hits all the squishy-good feels.
First arriving earlier this year with the single 'Somebody, Nobody', that was followed by 'Feels Like Magic', the duo of James MacCallum and Luke Minness present 'It's You' – a radiant bop that serenades lovers with audio doses of dopamine.A slinky, entrancing beat envelops the senses and frames a euphoric feeling of freedom, the dance-pop melody and recurring 'oooh' falsetto vocal lifting the energy feels to create a hypnotic embrace that sparks wandering romantic thoughts.
"'It's You' came out of really fun writing session with Bri Clarke," begins Jimmy Mac. "We felt like the recurring 'oooh' earworm sounded like something from a Eurovision meme – but it stuck."
Ahead of the song's release tomorrow (25 August), scenestr is stoked to premiere 'It's You' today. Enjoy.
Although still finding their feet within the industry, Have A Good Day have already fostered positive momentum that has seen them nominated for WAM Pop Song Of The Year, while supporting Alter Boy and Hot Dub Time Machine. They also recently played the FIFA Women's World Cup Fan Festival.
"The song quickly became one of our favourite creations with its infectious groove and simple nursery-rhyme melody," adds Jimmy Mac.
"Playing this tune at our shows for the previous few months has shown that it's a 'floor-filler', so we can't wait to see people dance to it now that it's out."
