An emerging voice, Brisbane indie folk musician Georgia Betts continues to build a repertoire of captivating originals.

After honing her craft busking at markets across Queensland as a teenager, Georgia's honest approach to songwriting is built on personal and universally relatable lyrics that weave themselves deep into your heart as evidenced by her newest single, 'Wine Love'.

Haunting yet charming piano introduces the piece, the mood one of tranquil thoughtfulness before Georgia's endearing vocals enter, the earthiness of her voice creating a sereneness that envelops the senses.

A shimmering drum snare adds to the otherworldly feels, Betts transporting you to a place of introspection, the intimateness of the melody inspiring a mellow pleasantness with the song's stripped-back simplicity defying the poignant feels the song emanates.

A bruised folk-pop burner that lingers long after the final chord fades, 'Wine Love' is an intoxicating journey that both romantics at heart and souls enduring lost will find true meaning in. . . a song that deserves repeat listens, let it warm the inside of your spirt.

"'Wine Love' is about rekindling love through the simple moments," shares Georgia. "It's about choosing each other, even when things feel heavy. Sometimes, all you need is to slow down, share a glass of wine, and create a space to reconnect and rediscover that love amongst the day-to-day routine."

Ahead of the song's release tomorrow (10 January), today scenestr is thrilled to premiere 'Wine Love'. Enjoy.

The creation of 'Wine Love', Georgia's third single overall after releasing 2024 singles 'Last Day Of May' and 'Room For One', was inspired by a desire to keep it simple.

"Sometimes I find it trickier to keep a song more paired back and simple. All my songs start off as just vocals and guitar, and then when I head into the studio there's all these extra layers I can hear and I find myself wanting them all to be a part of the final track.

"At its core, 'Wine Love' is about a quiet reassurance and warmth that suits a more intimate arrangement, and I'm glad we were able to honour that. I feel that I listen to this song much more attentively and deeply because of how open it is, and I hope that other people will feel the same."

The writing-producing of 'Wine Love' can also be attributed to Georgia's acquisition of a piano; how delightful. "In the early days after I first wrote 'Wine Love', I was humming it to myself in the car and I imagined this gorgeous deep piano sound for the song.

"In true manic musician style, as soon as I parked I jumped online and bought a piano. . . which was a bit of an impulse buy seeing as I had never actually played one before!

"I fumbled around with a couple of chords and melodies, which form the bones of what you hear on the studio version. Thankfully, Jack Gooden (who also produces the track) is just a biiiiit more skilled at playing the piano than me and he was able to help bring it all to life."

While she doesn't presently have any live shows planned, Georgia does promise plenty of opportunities to see her perform throughout 2025; check out her socials to stay updated.
