Born from a world of brooding alt-pop (think indie-punk meets shoegaze grunge), Boorloo-based artist EDIE is extending her artistic reach with her next EP.
'Garden Of Edie' fosters dance-driven beats and atmospheric electronic textures, the EP's title track encompassing this new era with sleek, polished electro-pop that bounces with a feverish energy.
It unleashes a tidal wave of seductive dark-pop that wraps you around its finger, pulling you in to a sweaty, dopamine-filled dance floor.
There's a sultry, provocative after-hours/ weekend vibe permeating throughout 'Garden Of Edie', the rhythm pounding like a pair of Dr Martens running to get front-row barrier access.
It creates a care-free zone, where your worries dissolve as the alluring sonic tones wash over your soul, and for that moment life is only about stealing sideways glances at future loves, and harnessing those flutters into something more significant.
"I wanted to create a song that was fun and didn't take itself too seriously! I was feeling overwhelmed with life's general pressures so I created this!"
Ahead of its release tomorrow (7 May), today scenestr is thrilled to premiere 'Garden Of Edie'. Enjoy.
A nominee for Best Electronic song at the 2026 WAM Awards, EDIE again partnered with producer Calvin Bennet on 'Garden Of Edie'.
"This song is about letting go of the pressure and expectations that are put on you," EDIE says. "I wanted to create a cathartic, feel-good, dance song about creating a world that doesn't revolve around anyone but yourself.
"When I was writing it, I was at a time in my life where I felt overwhelmed and confused about where I was going, so I decided to let go of that feeling and instead focus on all the good in my life!"
'Garden Of Edie' follows previous release, the slow burner 'Fall Of Man' with EDIE's sophomore EP to be released on 4 June. "The EP explores the feelings I have in my 20s.
"It encapsulates the confusion, the joy, and the heartbreak I've experienced. It feels very cathartic to be able to release it into the world soon. I can't wait to celebrate the release with a launch show at The Bird [Perth] on 6 June!"
