Premiere: Stream Echo Adore's New Single 'See Red'

Echo Adore
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Perth duo Echo Adore's first burst of music for 2021 is 'See Red’.

The track from Damian Diggs and Oliver James causes involuntary swaying with its dripping riffs and vocals coated in dreamy reverb. The chorus hits with hypnotising harmonies and flowing guitars.

'See Red' is Echo Adore's second single, signifying a step forward in their evolution after turning heads in 2019 with debut 'Caught In History'.

The brand-new track is taken from Echo Adore's forthcoming EP 'Lumière', and scenestr is beyond keen to be premiering it today ahead of its release on Wednesday 23 June – check it out below. It was recorded between Pavement and Blackbird Studios in Perth.

“There were a lot of violent events on the news during that time and we were trying to navigate that mindset. One particular event inspired Damian to write the lyrics as an internal dialogue,” the duo says.

“The music and lyrics both began to reflect the anger and vengeance of the character in the song, a story about betrayal and disillusion. It definitely has its own self-contained narrative but it can relate to a lot of internal struggles, like anxiety and depression. Trying to fight your way out of a frame of mind.”

Echo Adore celebrated a Pop Song Of The Year nomination at the 2019 WAM Awards, and are becoming a force to be reckoned with on the local Perth scene.
