The moniker of Melbourne-based Torsten Gustavsson, Corduroy Spaceship has been delivering psych-pop bombs of love since 2018.
Earlier this year, Corduroy Spaceship dropped the guitar-soaked pop-rock ballad 'I Don't Cry', and now he's ready to unleash the psychedelic, surf-flecked mastery of 'She Wants You (I Don't Know Why)'.Instant comparisons to Tame Impala will abound and with good reason; there's also sprinklings of Dope Lemon and Methyl Ethel to be heard throughout as well.
"'She Wants You' is about me losing my masculinity and power to a relationship," Torsten says.
"The vocals and dialogues are depictions of conversations I had with myself and imaginary gossip that I believed was happening around me at the time."

'She Wants You (I Don't Know Why)' will feature on Corduroy Spaceship's forthcoming EP 'The Life In Hollywood', that's due 14 May.
"Writing, recording and mixing are all done from my bedroom," Corduroy says, who works on new music out of his home studio in Collingwood.
"'She Wants You' grew from a bassline I wrote years ago and developed into a track about things happening in my life that are much more recent."
