Brisbane's powerhouse live act Blues Arcadia return with a new single, 'Remedy', lifted from their forthcoming album release.
The 'dirty soul' rockers have had an inspiring 12 months, with their debut, self-titled album reaching #2 on the Australian Blues and Roots Radio Airplay Charts.
They have also played stages at Caloundra Music Festival, Gympie Music Muster, Blues On Broadbeach, Woodford Folk Festival and Thredbo Blues Festival.
'Remedy' is a song of hope, determination and passion - the same raw materials that Blues Arcadia bring to every performance, as anyone who has witnessed their wildly energetic live shows can attest to.
"We've almost finished writing an album for release next year, but we wanted to put out something between then and now," Blues Arcadia singer Alan Boyle, "something that would help our audience to connect our new material to what we achieved with our debut EP last year, so we went back to where that was recorded.
"The Barn Recording Studios in Laidley is perfect for us: it has a massive live room with a warm natural sound from all the old wood. We can put everybody in there including the horn section and get it all down in one take.
"We're very much a live band, and our live shows can be pretty intense so capturing that energy and putting it on a record is the trick. I think we achieved that with 'Remedy'. It's got an old soul feel that belongs on vinyl."
The band will release physical copies of the single in the form of very limited edition coloured 7" vinyl. "Putting it out as a 7" single was kind of a natural progression really," Alan says.
"Plus, we're all suckers for wax in this band! So we had 150 copies printed up on blood red vinyl, with an exclusive B-side track and we'll have them at the launch at The Flaming Galah [Brisbane] on 11 November.
"And once they are gone, we'll never see them again. It's pretty exciting!"
Blues Arcadia is formed around the award-winning songwriting partnership of Alan Boyle (vocals) and Chris Harvey (guitar), joined by Jeremy Klysz (bass), Parmis Rose (keys) and Beck Flatt (drums).
Blues Arcadia launch 'Remedy' at The Flamin' Galah (Brisbane) 11 November.
