"'Point Of View' is about getting with your life-long friend and then the mental roller coaster you go on to figure out what it means. The lyrics are hopeful that things will go somewhere beyond friend-zone, but things are still up in the air."
Ahead of the commercial release tomorrow (15 May) of 'Point Of View', scenestr is ecstatic to premiere Ash's debut single today. Enjoy.
"I wrote this on my bedroom floor," adds Ash, "sat in front of a little heater, with a blanket and my guitar. The first voice memo is up on my socials; it was probably one of the quickest songs I have ever written, and I knew pretty quickly it was gonna be the debut single.
"When I wrote 'P.O.V', I pictured myself in the place of Joey in 'Dawson's Creek', falling for a close friend who's been under your nose the whole time and you never gave it a chance."
Expect to hear more from Ash Kennedy, with another single in the works as well as featuring on two tracks on Zac Robertson's debut album, and a duet feature with the soulful Will Clift.
