We love Melbourne, and were stoked to be able to finally come down and play a show.
I think we talked more about how nice the weather was going to be, and where we wanted to visit than we did the show. I guess we are wildcats in that sense. First thing we did was get some coffees, then went to an Italian place, smashed some pasta and smoked in the eating area like total badasses. What a time to be alive.
We’d heard a lot about The Espy. The Epsy is like an old rock ‘n’ roll war bunker overlooking the St. Kilda waterfront. Its iconic status in the Melbourne venue game is second to none. C'mon, ‘Rockwiz’ is filmed there, enough said.
The Espy totally delivered. Great stage, great vibe and great people. We had a half decent turnout for a school night also. Kicking of the night we had the support of When We Were Small, Residual and Darling James. These bands set the tone for a killer night, they had the crowd pumped by the time we hit the stage. The quality of the performances was at such a high standard it definitely forced us to up our anti. If you ever get the chance to see any of these bands do yourself a favour.
This was the third show of our ‘It's About Time’ tour; so far our Brisbane, Broadbeach and Melbourne shows have set the precedent of what’s to come. We have three Sydney shows left to round of the tour. All backed up with a set at The Zoo back in Brisbane on Saturday the 14th of June supporting the amazing Saskwatch who we are big fans of.
Melbourne, it’s been real, and we will see you REAL SOON!
