American rapper, Post Malone, was refused entry to Perth's swanky rooftop bar a the QT Hotel.
The singer was turned away because the inkwork on his neck breached the venue's strict dress code, which prohibits 'face, neck, and offensive tattoos'. Malone's extensive tapestry currently runs at least to 79 tatts including the words 'Always Tired' and 'Stay Away' as well as images of barbed wire, a Playboy bunny and playing cards.
Apparentky unperturbed at the rebuke Malone and his entourage moved to 18 Knots rooftop bar where he was granted special entry on the discretion of security, according to Daily Mail Australia.
In a statement to the news outlet today, they apologised, saying, "At QT, we aim to welcome everyone and celebrate the uniqueness of each individual. QT has been recognised for this for many years. However, on Saturday night, our third-party security did not exercise the appropriate discretion and we take full responsibility for this. We sincerely apologise to the individuals affected."
The star, 27, who is on tour with Red Hot Chili Peppers, told The West Australian: "They turned me away for my tattoos... I've never really experienced anything like that."
Commentary on social media was largely supportive of venues with dress codes and the discretion afforded for special circumstances.
