Indie pop maestro Pluto Jonze — aka Lachlan Nicholson — has delivered his debut LP.
Recorded in his Redfern terrace-cum-recording-studio, Eject is 100 per cent Pluto Jonze: self-produced, mixed, engineered, played and sung.
It feels like he's been around for a while now, but Jonze only emerged in the public consciousness in early 2012, when the riff-driven 'Plastic Bag In A Hurricane' achieved high rotation airplay on Triple J and community radio. For his first album, Jonze has created 12 individual stories, each one as different and entertaining as the next, propelled by stomping lo-fi guitar grooves, drenched in lush vocals, gorgeous string arrangements and the signature wail of his theremin. It's what the '60s would have sounded like on another planet.
