FESTIVAL UPDATE: 30 May, 2016: Music, craft beer and seafood festival Sea n Sound has extended its offering once again with the value-add of an extra 3 days of festivities to be held at The Wharf Tavern over the weekend of 11 June.

The inaugural event, set in the picturesque surrounds of Mooloolaba Beach and wharf precinct, will feature some of Australia's finest musical talent including Pete Murray, Ash Grunwald, Sahara Beck, Carl Wockner and more.

Added to the Saturday main event will be nationally touring DJ 12th Planet on the Thursday night as part of his 2016 Australian tour en route to Las Vegas.

Friday night sees local radio station MixFM team up with the venue to host a fundraising night for children's charity Give Me 5 For Kids featuring 4 local acts including Rob Longstaff, Led Angels, Band From The Club and The Truce.

The Sunshine Coast Annual Record Fair will grace the downstairs area of The Wharf Tavern on the Sunday following Sea N Sound and showcase some 20,000 vinyl albums from a range of vendors from all over Australia, making it the largest vinyl record display on the Coast for the year.

LINE-UP UPDATE: 10 May, 2016. The upcoming Sunshine Coast Sea N Sound Festival has announced a massive bill of local act additions for its inaugural event in Mooloolaba on Saturday 11 June.

Nine acts have been added to the line-up in support of Aussie roots superstars Pete Murray and Ash Grunwald including Sahara Beck, Carl Wockner Band, Band of Frequencies, Selahphonic, The Hi-Boys, Tyrone Noonan, Pop Cult, Buck Dean and the Green Lips and Brad Schultz.

Local seafood and Australian craft beer with a generous smattering of original, live music (fronted by troubadour Pete Murray) will be the focus when the inaugural Sea N Sound Festival is held on the Sunshine Coast in June.

Rows of local, fresh seafood vendors will be set-up alongside a showcase of ten craft brewers (with taste tests and food/ drink available for purchase).

Set to take place 11 June in the carpark of The Wharf Tavern and Underwater World in Mooloolaba (positioned on the Mooloolah River and opposite the stunning Mooloolaba beach), the area will be converted to hold 2,000 people with construction of a large outdoor stage to host Pete Murray alongside Ash Grunwald. An under-card of local, original talent (to be announced) will also fill out the day.

Kerrie Du Preez, manager of The Wharf Tavern, says of the event: “We hope to create an annual cultural event in which the local community will benefit from an influx of festival goers at a time of year when tourist numbers are generally down.

“The focus will be on offering a true, local experience, with local brewing companies, food vendors, seafood suppliers and an impressive line-up of local entertainers alongside some of Australia's best.”
