Local seafood and Australian craft beer with a generous smattering of original, live music (fronted by troubadour Pete Murray) will be the focus when the inaugural Sea N Sound Festival is held on the Sunshine Coast in June.
Rows of local, fresh seafood vendors will be set-up alongside a showcase of ten craft brewers (with taste tests and food/ drink available for purchase).
Set to take place 11 June in the carpark of The Wharf Tavern and Underwater World in Mooloolaba (positioned on the Mooloolah River and opposite the stunning Mooloolaba beach), the area will be converted to hold 2,000 people with construction of a large outdoor stage to host Pete Murray alongside Ash Grunwald. An under-card of local, original talent (to be announced) will also fill out the day.
Kerrie Du Preez, manager of The Wharf Tavern, says of the event: “We hope to create an annual cultural event in which the local community will benefit from an influx of festival goers at a time of year when tourist numbers are generally down.
“The focus will be on offering a true, local experience, with local brewing companies, food vendors, seafood suppliers and an impressive line-up of local entertainers alongside some of Australia's best.”
