Perth band Triangle Fight was born by the desire to make awesome rock music with minimal instruments.
The band was started in 2012 by brothers Paulo and Martin Gonzalez when the pair began experimenting with bass loops and effects.
Triangle Fight bring their sound to the stages at WAMFest this year, and we catch up with Paulo to learn all we need to know about the band.
Which member of the band is best equipped to win a triangle fight?
Probably Sofia, due to her shredded drummer arms.
The band will be showcasing at WAMFest; what do you guys have planned for the show?
We're debuting our new single 'A Clean Death'. We can't wait to play it live.
What does it mean to be part of an event like WAMFest?
It feels incredible to be acknowledged like this. It's like we're officially a part of WA music history and we couldn't feel more proud or honoured.
Who are a couple of other bands also playing WAMFest punters should know about?
So hard to choose. Our good mate Ella Munro is a phenomenal performer and songwriter, and Self Harm offer an intense live show you will never forget.
It’s been more than 12 months since the band released ‘The Blood Giant: A Temporal Cantata’ album; when can fans expect another Triangle Fight album to emerge?
We are releasing a few singles between now and early next year, which is when we'll be dropping our next concept album/ uber project.
When it is time to record, sonically will you be exploring similar sounds?
I think we are always looking for ways to improve. So we're looking at what we've done well in the past and are trying to refine that. But we've also found new sounds that are inspiring us, so we're exploring a lot of new musical ground which is extremely exciting.
For those new to the sounds of Triangle Fight, how would you describe the band?
Hooky, intense-party rock with lots of fun experimentation.
As we head into another scorching summer, what are a couple of tips to stay cool?
Don't get involved in Facebook arguments.
Where is the best place in Perth/ Fremantle to escape the rush of day-to-day life?
It's a total cliche, but Kings Park and Scarborough Beach, or Hillarys are amazing places to escape and get some serenity in you.
What’s the last show you binge watched?
I'm currently on a Breaking Bad recap binge to prepare for the movie.
