Pendulum are proving the old adage of when it rains, it pours correct with news the Australian electronic OGs will tour their homeland in 2026.
The 'Witchcraft', 'Watercolour' and 'Tarantula' hitmakers will headline concerts in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide next March.
These dates follow the August release of Pendulum's newest album, 'Inertia' – their first record since the 2010 release of 'Immersion' – including the soaring new single 'Guiding Lights feat. AWOLNATION' and WARGASM collab 'Cannibal'.
"It's the sound of Pendulum finding themselves again, and me figuring myself out to a certain extent," frontman Rob Swire says. "I can't wait to get back on tour. I know people always say this in interviews, but this time it feels different."
Produced by Swire and Owen Charles and recorded at Pendulum's London studio, 'Inertia' follows two EPs released in the 2020s: 2021's 'Elemental' and 2023's 'Anima' – the latter featuring Bullet for My Valentine frontman Matthew Tuck on the track 'Halo'. All the tracks from both EPs feature on 'Inertia'.
"I was basically testing how far we could push Pendulum," adds Swire, "seeing what we could get away with. I always looked at The Prodigy as the benchmark. They started out as pure rave – breakbeat, hardcore – but they evolved.
"They became their own sound. You don't even really associate them with breakbeat anymore. They just are The Prodigy. That's always what I wanted for Pendulum.
"I didn't want to be locked into drum & bass, or metal, or anything. I just wanted to follow whatever felt right; and that's been the ongoing challenge – finding that middle ground. If it leans too far one way, it doesn't feel right."
Tickets on sale from 2pm (local time) on 8 September. Tickets to the Melbourne concert will be available via the band's website.
