Time to give it a rest, guys — even Paul McCartney says he doesn't see the big deal about Miley Cyrus.
"C'mon, we've seen worse than that!" he told Sky NewsSky News while promoting his, er, new album, New.
The 71-year-old legend simply doesn't understand the fuss surrounding Cyrus' performance at the VMAs: "I watched it as an experiment to check, but you look at it and you say, 'What's everyone shouting about?' I think it was only mildly shocking... it wasn't explicit at all."
Of course, McCartney knows what's sexy and what isn't — just look at the above photo for an 'explicit' shot of the ex-Beatle.
(Incidentally, how great is it that Macca says he watched the video "as an experiment"? We're sure that's what he says when Mrs Macca walks in on him watching porn, too.)
Once he was done reminding everyone that it's possible to have a sense of perspective about Miley Cyrus, he started in on One Direction — who he doesn't mind at all, actually.
"I like One Direction," he said, trolling his fans even harder than that one time he let everyone think he'd been killed and replaced by a look-alike.
"They're young, beautiful boys and that's the attraction. But they can sing and they make good records, so that's what I can see in common [with The Beatles] — and that the girls love them."
