Six years since he last graced Australian shores, music icon Paul McCartney returns to Australia this spring for the 'Got Back' tour.
With a career spanning 60-plus years, it's no illusion to declare Paul McCartney one of the greatest songwriters ever, with a catalogue including such cherished hits as 'Hey Jude', 'Live And Let Die', 'Band On The Run', 'Let It Be' and so many more.This run of concerts will see Paul begin in Adelaide (the Australian city The Beatles first landed in 1964, with an estimated 350,000 people lining the streets for a glimpse of the rock & roll stars) followed by stadium concerts in Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, and Gold Coast (Newcastle and Gold Coast will being Paul's first concerts in either city).
"I've got so many amazing memories of my time in Australia over the years," Paul says.
"Our last trip was so much fun. We had such an incredible time. Each show was a party so we know this is going to be incredibly special. Australia we are going to rock! I can't wait to see you."
These shows will feature Paul's longtime band: Paul 'Wix' Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums) for a once in a lifetime event.
When Paul was last in Australia in 2017, Kylie Minogue was backstage at his Sydney concert. "Having Paul, Sir Paul, in Australia is incredible," she said.
"All of Australia wants to see him; half of them can't get a ticket! "The chance for Australians to see Paul on stage singing songs that they know and love and mean so much to them is a beautiful thing and I hope he feels all the love."
Tickets on sale at staggered times from 11 August.
