'Passionate about true crime docos, the Swannies, golf and sleep, I’ve been writing about music for 20-plus years. What I’ve learnt? There’s two types of music – good and bad.’

Amid the current music festival crisis, Tasmanian multiple-day event Party In The Paddock have committed to their 12th annual pilgrimage going 'full steam ahead' in 2025.

After the shock cancellations of Groovin The Moo, Splendour and MONA FOMA in recent times, today's news from event organisers Vibestown Productions is a welcome beacon of hope revealing Party In The Paddock will return 6-9 February, 2025.

The four day and night experience for festival goers is an integral part of festival culture having hosted the likes of Matt Corby, Lily Allen, G Flip, DMA'S, BENEE, Broods, The Darkness, Gang Of Youths, Dune Rats, Vera Blue since its inception in 2013.

Now the team behind Party In the Paddock are working hard to ensure the event's continuity despite the obstacles faced by the entertainment industry.

"We recognise the importance of these events as not only avenues for entertainment, but also vital platforms for community engagement, artistic expression, and economic support for local businesses and artists," Festival Director Jesse Higgs says.

"It's the most important time in our history, after running this event as a locally owned and operated business for the last 12 years, that we receive more support from the state government. We're currently working towards more funding for PITP and this will be vital for our future as Tasmania's leading music and arts festival.

"It's additionally important for us to say that we have so much gratitude towards our 'Paddock' people that return most years – this year especially, it's really important that everyone makes the effort to support local events.

"In this next chapter, we're here to make PITP as synonymous with Tassie as The Jack Jumpers or the coming Tassie Devils AFL team. We believe that music and art are and should be valued just as much as sports. Tassie, this event is for you, let's lock in another decade."

This year, the festival is opening up a limited amount of early bird tickets to coincide with current events, giving patrons the opportunity to support, lock in early and get their PITP 2025 tickets at the lowest cost.

With additional incentives on offer, such as an application process for hardship tickets and Zipay instalments where costs can be spread out starting at a minimum of $10 per week. Keep up to date by signing up.

Party In The Paddock 2025 takes place at Quercus Park (15 minutes from Launceston) 6-9 February.
