After a three-year hiatus, Tasmanian music festival Party In The Paddock returns in 2023 with its biggest line-up yet celebrating its 10th birthday.
Set to land at its new home at Quercus Park (just 25 minutes outside Launceston), Party In The Paddock will host revellers from 10-12 February with the new location offering 'more room for hay bales and plenty of bums – there will be no more squished campsites'.Alongside the main stage will be an alternative stage and a dance tent as well as roving performers, art, comedy, yoga and much more.
But circling back to the line-up. . . it's gold Jerry, gold led by Aussie expats indie rockers Gang Of Youths who return to Oz with their ARIA #1 album 'Angel In Realtime'.
They'll headline the festival with a second secret headliner act to be revealed closer to the event (let the guessing games begin).
New Zealand's BENEE ('Supalonely' and 'Glitter'), electronic OGs The Presets, the ethereal electro-pop of Vera Blue, the moody, atmospheric alt rock of Meg Mac and rising star Genesis Owusu (who is supporting Paramore on their US 2023 tour) also join the action.
"So stoked to be heading back to Tassie again for Party In The Paddock. Let's go," shares Vera Blue.
Further revisions of the line-up reveal a stack more talent including Methyl Ethel, Hockey Dad, Slowly Slowly, Young Franco, Bag Raiders (DJ set), JK-47, Peach PRC, Beddy Rays, Caravana Sun, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers and Nerve.
"Tasmania, this will be all time – Party In The Paddock '23 baby," Slowly Slowly says.
Beddy Rays add: "Tell ya what, we love a bit of acreage so being on the Party In The Paddock line-up has us feeling rural as f...! Fire up ya best pair of paddock pluggers and lets demolish a few hectares of beer shall we?"
Revellers are encouraged to make the festival their own. Those wanting to get their boogie on the hay bales for the whole three days can purchase two or three-night camping tickets. While those who prefer to get kitted in their accommodation before the fun can purchase single-day or multi-day tickets.
"In the absence of PITP we were able to reflect on what we created and the special community that bound the festival together," says Jesse Higgs, Artistic Director, Vibestown.
"We are able to see clearly the importance and responsibility of this festival to the larger community of lutruwita/ Tasmania and the future feels like a brighter place with the spirit of Party In The Paddock returning to our world.
"This is our commitment to bring back Vibestown's most special event during the Tassie summer festival calendar and to celebrate its tenth year in spectacular fashion."
Party In The Paddock takes place at Quercus Park (Launceston) 10-12 February, 2023.
