Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and some beyond.

One of the biggest event undertakings by an Australian band ever, Park Waves is a new music festival powered and produced by Parkway Drive.

While most festivals continue to struggle if not disappear completely, heavy music has always fostered loyal festival attendees and this latest addition to the festival landscapes promises to deliver an experience to satiate even the hardest to please head-banging fan.

The 11-date travelling festival, taking in most corners of the Australian mainland throughout February-March next year, will be headlined by Parkway Drive who'll be joined by fellow metalcore legends The Amity Affliction – marking the first time these two juggernauts have ever toured Australia together.

"We've shared festival stages around the world with Parkway Drive over the years, now we're honoured to be joining them for our first ever full Australian tour together. The first ever Australian Park Waves festival is coming," posted The Amity Affliction.

As ringmasters of this post-hardcore, alternative, metalcore, hard-rock circus, Parkway Drive have curated a mostly all-Aussie line-up that will also feature Northlane and Alpha Wolf as well as American post-hardcore rockers Story Of The Year, with many more to be added in the coming months.

"The vision for this is the biggest undertaking in Parkway's history," frontman Winston McCall says. "A travelling festival run by the band, for the fans.

"It's a massive deal for us, so we wanted to make it special. Not only is the line-up stacked, for the first time on home soil, we'll be bringing the iconic and unstoppable The Amity Affliction.

"Parkway, Amity, Australia. It's never been bigger. This is the full festival experience, a day to enjoy, connect and get wild. We can't wait to see you there."

The run of shows will commence in Perth before trekking the country, heading to Adelaide, Geelong, Melbourne, Bendigo, Wollongong, Western Sydney, Hunter Valley, Toowoomba, Byron Bay (Parkway's home town), and Greater Brisbane.

"This tour is absolutely monumental for us," shares Northlane. "Parkway Drive first took us under their wing back in 2012 when we supported them on some shows in regional centres, many of which being the same venues we are playing this August as a headliner.

"To come back and be a part of Park Waves is an honour, and we couldn't be more thrilled to be included in such an incredible undertaking." Adds Story Of The Year: "🇦🇺 Australia! We're so excited to announce that we will be playing Park Waves festival 2026! We can't wait to see you again."

A band who have redefined the musical landscape for over 20 years, shared stages with multiple titans of the scene, including Metallica, Lamb of God, Soulfly and Killswitch Engage, and proudly fly the flag for Australian heavy music on a mainstream level, Parkway Drive are a heavy act like no other; and their curated festival Park Waves is set to take this legacy to even greater heights.
