Queens living legend Action Bronson has kept his word, naming his new album 'Only For Dolphins'.
Lost? Rewind the tape to Action's 2018 release 'White Bronco' where he rapped: "My next album's only for dolphins." The MC is nothing if not true to his word.Set for release 25 September, the record offers a diverse palette of sounds (evident of Action's escapades circling the globe since 'White Bronco' dropped). The press release says we can expect Turkish psych, reggae, French film music, lovers rock, Russian funk.
Action has again teamed with his long-running crew of producers on 'Only For Dolphins' including The Alchemist, Harry Fraud, Daringer, Budgie, DJ Muggs, Tommy Mas and Samiyam.
Action also dropped a sampler of 'Only For Dolphins', 'Golden Eye' – a slow-burn reggae send-up produced by Budgie.
"The dolphin is one of the most intelligent creatures ever created on whatever planet we're on,” Action explains.
"They have their own way of communicating. They have nuance and intangibles like we do."
In a perfectly unusual analogy, he likens the aquatic mammal to the storied 'five-tool' baseball player.
"The only people who understand me are those five-tool players, those higher beings who are on the same telepathic wave as me."
