An artist weaving contemporary sounds through a pop, soul and classical lens, British singer-songwriter Olivia Dean is headed to Australia for a very special, one-off concert in Sydney.
Billed as An Evening At The Steps, the 'Dive', 'The Hardest Part' and 'Ok Love You Bye' hitmaker will perform an exclusive show (20 November) at Mrs Macquaries Point, set against the stunning views of the harbour, promising 'a rare moment of connection between an artist in full bloom and the people who've grown with her music'.Already shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and nominated for three BRITs, 2025 has seen Olivia contribute 'It Isn't Perfect But It Might Be' to the 'Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy' soundtrack, as well as collaborating with Sam Fender, adding a duet to 'Rein Me In' off his 2025 album 'People Watching' (Dean joining Fender onstage for several live renditions at his stadium concerts that she opened for).
Dean is now drip-feeding singles from her forthcoming sophomore album, 'The Art of Loving' (due 26 September; pre-order it) releasing 'Nice To Each Other' last month, before dropping 'Lady Lady' last week.
"'Nice To Each Other' is a song about the push and pull of exploring your independence in dating," Olivia says. "It's about enjoying someone in the present and allowing it to be both light and meaningful."
Then Olivia posted: "'Lady Lady' out now! A song about the universe, mother nature and trusting in the plan she has for you. The power we hold as women."
The record, she says, deepens her lifelong study of love – not the spectacle of it, but its smaller, more ordinary textures. "I think there's a whole spectrum of how you can have relationships with people in your life and still make them really meaningful and honest," she says, "but that's a new thing for me, to be honest."
