Next summer, Australian psych-rockers Ocean Alley will headline their biggest Australian live dates yet as they celebrate the release of their forthcoming new studio album 'Love Balloon'.
The band are currently in the midst of a monster 2025 that will see them tour throughout the North American summer including festival dates at Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, before European-UK dates that include Sziget Festival in Budapest and London's iconic 10,000 capacity Alexandra Palace. They round out their international touring with their very first Latin American dates in Brazil and Chile."AUSTRALIA! We're so stoked to announce outdoor headline shows for the summer of 2026 to celebrate our new album 'Love Balloon'. U/18s can attend ALL shows! If you're in WA though you will need a parent or adult guardian with you. LET'S GOOOO!!!! 😤🍊🧡🎈❤️."
The Love Balloon tour will trek to Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney in January, before a west-coast trip to Fremantle and Margaret River in February.
UK alt rockers Nothing But Thieves ('Amsterdam', 'Sorry') playing their first Australian shows since 2023 and US indie charmers Rainbow Kitten Surprise ('It's Called: Freefall', 'Cocaine Jesus', and making their Australian live debut) will play all east-coast dates, with Australian alternative singer-songwriter Ruby Fields joining across all shows, plus Skegss and Smol Fish on the west-coast only.
"It never takes much convincing to come back to Australia but supporting one of our favourite bands of the moment, Ocean Alley, is as good as any. See you next year with Rainbow Kitten Surprise and Ruby Fields," Nothing But Thieves says.
Adds Rainbow Kitten Surprise: "Australia 🇦🇺 We are finally coming down under!!! So excited to join Ocean Alley, Nothing But Thieves and Ruby Fields on tour in January 2026."
With a back catalogue that has clocked over one billion streams, 'Love Balloon' (to be released 19 Sept; pre-order it) will be Ocean Alley's fifth studio album, the band releasing the title track earlier this month.
"'Love Balloon' is the title track from our fifth album that will be released on September 19. ❤️🎈We are so proud of this album and we cannot wait for you to hear it in full. Pre-orders are now live on our store. Thank you for listening 🫶🏽."
Produced by legendary producer Nick DiDia (Bruce Springsteen, Powderfinger, Rage Against The Machine), the band embraced a stripped-back, more emotionally resonant approach across the ten tracks of 'Love Balloon', taking listeners on a journey through life and love in all its complexity, underscored by moments of light, vulnerability and connection.
Tickets on sale from 10am AEST on 24 June.
