Wildly enough, it’s coming up to the time where everyone is starting to plan how they’ll ring in the new year – and with that, the NYE On The Hill line-up is here!
This year, punters can expect to go on a journey as they collectively time-travel from one year in the next, arm in arm, surrounded by good friends and enjoying some of the best musical offerings of the land.
There’ll be free camping, incredible views, magical sunsets, cocktails, field games, awesome food, areas to hang out and chill out, late night DJs, art installations, morning yoga, and more than 30 bands and artists to soak up.
NYE On The Hill grew out of The Hills Are Alive Festival, a unique, much-loved event for 334 music-loving friends of friends, many who were local musicians in the Melbourne music scene. The original concept, which still thrives today, is that anyone should be able to turn to the person next to them, introduce themselves, and party together like old friends. . . While discovering the best up-and-coming talent the region has to offer.
Windang’s favourite sons, Hockey Dad, have released three albums and have amassed a legion of fans. Their newest release ‘Rebuild Repeat’ has the band stretching themselves creatively and embracing new sounds – which they’ll be bringing to NYE On The Hill this year.
Surf Trash have honed their raw, live sound – with a nod to the ‘90s Australian rock scene that influenced them. Following their monumental USA tour in November, and a sold-out tour down under last year, NYE On The Hill is thrilled to welcome the band for the new year.
This year sees the introduction of Dada Jones, the new project from Jess Kent fusing UK garage, drum and bass, and club electronic vibes. Dada’s upcoming releases promise a fresh and exciting new sonic direction, as they prepare to hit the stage at NYE On The Hill.
Mallrat has grown from Brisbane roots to one of Australia’s most beloved singer-songwriters. She’s released three EPs and several notable collaborations over the past five years, becoming a prominent figure in the Australian music scene.
Originating on the Sunshine Coast, The Dreggs are an exciting indie-folk duo consisting of Paddy Macrae and Zane Harris. They started as a cover band. . . And are now selling out shows in Australia and abroad.
The punk-rock sound of Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers are heading to NYE On The Hill. Since their 2019 debut, the band has demonstrated an impressive evolution, culminating in their 2023 debut studio album ‘I Love You’.
Punters can also expect to see the likes of Rum Jungle, South Summit, Go-Jo, Gold Fang, and more at this year’s festival.
Tickets are on sale now.
NYE On The Hill takes place at South Gippsland (Victoria) from 30 December 2024 to 1 January 2025.
