With the release of their fifth studio album 'Alien' on 2 August, Sydney metallers Northlane reveal the dates for a national tour.
For a band that have traditionally focused on wider issues in the outside world, 'Alien' is easily the most personal statement of Northlane's career, with vocalist Marcus Bridge diving deep into his tumultuous past.
“I was raised in hell but I made it out,” Marcus says.
“Raised in a place I shouldn’t have been, and no child should have been. But I’ve been able to break free.”
On first single 'Bloodline', Marcus tells the stories of his upbringing, the ups and downs that came with it, and growing up in a broken home.
Teaming up once more with director Jason Eshraghian, the video for 'Bloodline' follows the abusive relationship between a father and son.
While some long-time listeners might assume that the title Alien is a continuation of the space and futuristic themes that have characterised previous Northlane albums, it’s instead a reflection of the alienation Bridge felt as a child
After a headline North America tour from August to September, Northlane hit the road in Australia with 'Alien' in October supported by Counterparts, Silent Planet and Void Of Vision.
'Alien' is available 2 August.
