Off the back of their recent album tour, Northeast Party House are back at it again with a run of summer shows including a co-headline spot at Bulimba Festival this November.
The Melbourne-based band finished their largest tour to date earlier this month after the release of their album ‘Dare’. Guitarist Jackson Shoe says they played their biggest venues with the biggest crowds who responded well to their new album. “Each weekend seeing more people sing-along to new songs was really cool.

“Each week it just got stronger and stronger and that was really cool to watch that progress because the album came out at the very start of the tour and you don’t usually do it that way, so you’re a little bit scared that people won’t know the album.
"But it was cool that people were listening to it and engaging with the new material just as much as the old stuff,” Jackson says.
Northeast Party House will be bringing that material to the Bulimba Festival joined by The Delta Riggs, Asta, The Badloves, Mallrat, The Jensens and more. Bulimba Festival is a free street party, with two stages, food trucks and markets as well as plenty of craft and international beer and street performers. “I’d actually never heard of [Bulimba] before we got the festival offer,” Jackson says.
“I looked [Bulimba] up a few days ago and I thought it was going to be a regional Queensland show. I thought it would be a five-hour drive out, just from the name, and then I saw that it was right in Brisbane, so we’re really looking forward to it.”
Despite becoming accustomed to their own headline shows, Northeast Party House never disappoint on the festival stage. “Festivals in general are our most exciting shows to play because we’ve always been a live band and that’s our strongest point and we know the fans.
"So any opportunity to play to a larger audience who might not know us is a good challenge because you’ve got to bring your A-game, as far as your performance goes. This festival seems really cool. It’s a good line-up,” Jackson says.
This isn’t Northeast Party House’s only show on the horizon. “We’ve got a whole bunch of shows over the summer, mostly festival shows and a few bits and pieces, and we’re going to start writing for the next album… There’s talk about relocating overseas next year but that’s early talks. So I think there’ll be an Australian tour before that perhaps.”
With another album under their belt, talks of another one to come, single releases and summer festivals coming up, Northeast Party House are working off some serious momentum and it’s exciting to have them bring some of that energy to Brisbane. “Brisbane: we’ve always toured there and we’ve got lots of friends there so we’ve spent quite a bit of time there. It’s always been a good place for us.”
