Update - 29 November, 2022: Nominations have been extended and now close 11:59pm on 5 December.

It’s time – the Queensland Music Awards (QMAs), presented by QMusic, return in 2023, and nominations are now open.

Early next year, QMusic is set to shine a light on some of the state’s freshest musical talent and bring together industry and artists for the Queensland music industry’s night of nights.

This year’s biggest winners included The Jungle Giants for Album Of The Year, Sycco for Song Of The Year, and Amy Shark for ‘Cry Forever’, the Highest Selling Single.

Artists who have released songs and music videos between the period of 1 December 2021 and 30 November 2022 are eligible to nominate across more than 20 wide-ranging categories. The awards are also open to venues and festivals in the People’s Choice Awards.

“The QMAs play a vital role in recognising homegrown talent,” QMusic CEO Kris Stewart says. “It’s a rare chance to surface new talent and bring together our community to celebrate the passion and tenacity that makes our industry great.”

“From household names Keith Urban, Amy Shark and Sheppard to artists like Sycco, The Jungle Giants, Jesswar and Hope D, it’s clear that the talent coming out of Queensland is as strong as ever.”

Nominations are open now, and will be judged by music industry professionals from across the country.

Nominations close 11:59pm EST on 5 December, 2022.

The Queensland Music Awards take place on 28 March, 2023.
