A celebration of South Australia's contemporary music industry, nominations are open for the 2022 SAM Awards (South Australian Music Awards).
To be staged at Adelaide's Hindley Street Music Hall 17 November, award categories recognise both those who rock out on the stage as well as those behind the scenes alongside the introduction of two regional award categories: Best Regional Venue/ Music Activation and Best Regional Artist.Whether you're a SA musician, band, sound engineer, manager, educator, designer, festival, or live music venue, you can either self-nominate or someone can put you forward independently – nominations close 3 October.
"The SAM Awards are an important and much-loved event for the music industry as we collectively honour the exceptional talent, both on and off the stage, that South Australia boasts," MusicSA CEO Christine Schloithe says.
"Additionally, it enables us to celebrate the resilience and determination of our contemporary music industry as it emerges stronger than ever after the past two years of the pandemic.
"The talent in South Australia is extraordinary and to adequately reflect that, we encourage as many people as possible to nominate themselves and others who are doing amazing things for music in SA."
The SAM Awards take place at Hindley Street Music Hall (Adelaide) 17 November.
